There were four sessions in the conference namely : (1) Defining Quality in Management Education: The South Asian Perspective; (2) Institution Building: The Emerging Issues; (3) Quality and Institution Building: The South Asian Quality Assurance System Dimensions and (4) Management Education in South Asia: Towards Sustainable Development. The 1st Session was Chaired by Dr. S.Padam, 2nd and 3rd Sessions by Dr. A. H. Kalro and 4th Session by Prof. Y. K. Bhushan.
Dr. Ashok Joshi, President, AMDISA and the Director, Indsearch, Pune was the Chief Guest. Dr. A. M. Gondane, Joint Secretary, SAARC, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Y. K. Bhushan, Chairman, SAQS Council, AMDISA and Past President AMDISA presided over the Inaugural Session.
Deans, Directors, Vice Chancellor’s from South Asia participated in the Conference.
The speakers stressed the need for Quality in Management Education not only at the beginning but also as a continuous effort in management education. They pointed to specific examples from their own institutions and the efforts that they have made to institutionalize the process of quality in order to achieve excellence.
